I'm pretty handy, however this bed wasn't as simple to install as others have said. You definitely need two people to assemble it. Some screws were missing and I also added extra screws to the center support post. The bed is in my daughter's room and she loves it. We've had it for a month and so far It hasn't squeaked and provides good and solid support. The natural wood looks great and totally blends in with her maple dresser.
